A simple recording

Hi all,

I just wanted to share this song file with you:

DAI – Hi no Ataru Sakamichi (by Denise)

The song is titled “Hi no Ataru Sakamichi” by the Japanese pop group “Do As Infinity.”

I recorded this in 2005. At that point, I had been learning the guitar for about a year and a half. I gave a shot at some basic recording for fun and to play around with some software I had at the time. Plus I just loved Do As Infinity (still do) and just wanted to play their music all day, every day! But perhaps that is a story for another time…

Anyway it was my first attempt at such a project and the only one I ever fully completed. As such, while it sounds crude and unpolished, it is something I was and still am quite proud to have done.

I hope you will enjoy listening to it. 🙂

  1. Naisu jobu Denise. The lead guitar melody/vocal part is really good. The slowed down tempo you used also works well for an acoustic cover. Did you do that on purpose?

I thought I didn’t really like Do As Infinity but after listening to this and the original song I’m starting to change my mind. Which other songs by them would you recommend?

If you ever want to record something again I have that recording equipment that I bought that I have (shamefully) yet to use for anything substantial. I would be happy to lend it to you or help you mess around with it at my house. At least someone would be making some use out of it. Or maybe I could just get off my lazy ass and actually work on my podcast so I can have some content for this site.

    • thanks!

O man there are too many of their songs I like….but if i had to pick a few for starters:

      Oasis
      Raven
      Rakuen

IMO their first 3 albums are pretty solid, everything after that is a bit of a hit or miss…but I am still a fan anyways..

Maybe after I get my stuff moved up I’d be down for playing around with the recording stuff again. At least it’ll get me to pick up my guitars again 😛
